A group of the critically endangered bamboo lemurs have been located in Madagascar. The newly discovered group is believed to be 30 to 40 in total. Until this discovery the only place were bamboo lemurs were thought too live was in an isolated bamboo forest.
The discovery of this group of bamboo lemurs is raising hopes that this species can be saved. Bamboo lemurs are unique animals with distinctive big eyes. It would be absolutely devastating too lose this species.
